You often wouldn’t call a dystopian world elegant, beautiful, and fresh, but those are the first words that come to mind when you think of the Exiled Elementals series by T.L. Price. Currently, this series features three books. Ruins Awakened, the third book in the series releases on March 23rd —all three books are now free on Kindle Unlimited.
Alright, let’s start the Exiled Elementals review! ?
Book 1 Exiled No More ?
Synopsis:
At the tender age of 15, they exiled Nhari Evans. Sending her to a treacherous prison, doing their best to condemn her to death. In spite of this, ancient laws allowed her to return to civilization to battle for a seat on the guardian council. The very one that exiled her. It is only because of this law that Nhari is able to participate in the competition for a chance at a seat at the council table.
Nhari implemented the tools in her wheelhouse. Utilizing the techniques taught to her while trying to survive as one of the exiled elementals. More than anything she was the first prisoner to make it back from exile.
Nhari’s family will stop at nothing to see her dead. And with more than revenge pushing her to fight the strongest genetically engineered humans and demigods in the world. Nhari has to discover her magical elemental powers and find others of her kind. As evil spreads how will the balance of power be restored? Which side will she choose?

Review of Exiled No More:
Reminiscent of classic dystopian novels like The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner with a fantasy twist. The plot of the Exiled Elementals jumps off the page in a dystopian world full of detail. With the addition of the map — which in my eyes is always a great addition, it helps to set the stage and solidify the world Nhari is experiencing.
While you may have seen elemental magic before, we would be hard-pressed to say it would be in this capacity. These books depict the elemental bonds that are unique, magical all unto themselves, and powerful.
Of course, the characters are glorious! Nhari was such a fun character and a total badass. I loved that she has elemental tattoos which ultimately adds to her badassery ( is that a word? ?) I’ve never experienced an author having “living” tattoos for a character. Additionally, having those tattoos bond to the elemental powers was exciting.
Contrastly, at times there were moments that were confusing, within the exiled elementals book. Specifically, Exiled No More. I felt as if I was missing the bigger picture of the story. Often feeling the need to reread passages to make sure not to overlook anything. And while some things become more evident others get lost in the haze.
Additionally, as I got deeper into the exiled elementals, I couldn’t see past the messiness in the terms of writing. While it wasn’t a wealth of times, there were moments where there was a switch in perspectives that didn’t flow as smoothly as it should have.
Finally, there are a couple of typos in this initial book, and could really do with a once-over in editing.

Exiled Elementals Book #2! ?
Book 2 Enviro-Scapes ?
Synopsis:
Nhari has returned from exile, thrust into enviro-scapes. Where deadly games are played, between predators and their prey. Elementals, demigods, bioengineered humans, shifters, and many others will all face off for a place on the land.
As Nhari’s team leader, Thayden has more than games on his mind. But who’s playing who? Vigot and the demigods who rule are consistently tested by Tiago and the elementals. Love is a luxury, gaining power is a necessity, and following your destiny is above all else.
Review of Enviro-Scapes:
Without getting too deep into this as it is a sequel, T.L. raised the bar! You get more of a sense of her as a writer in this edition of the exiled elementals as she comes across with more visual actions versus just telling us which I really appreciated.
An example is the war scenes. They were not just descriptive — again as a second installment I do not want to give anything away, but the scene set a picture of the battles in your mind, giving an epic feel to the stage.
The introduction of additional players like the shifters and Vikings was a great lead to build to book three Ruins Awakened. Plus, there are some intriguing reverse harems and love triangles happening that kept me turning the pages ?!
Final Thoughts ?
Overall, the storyline of the exiled elementals is one you can’t help but be invested in. I had a wonderful time reading about Nhari and how she finds a way to survive on a planet after it has become essentially unlivable. I would love to learn more about the history of the government. Coupled with this, why they are always battling each other? What was the start of the elementals? Who were the first guardians to be exiled? Additionally, why were they exiled?
